Geek Life is a site dedicated to geek culture. We focus less on the usual video game and comic news and reviews (although you will find those here!) and take a look at the culture of living a geek life. We want to share with you the places all around the world that geeks love — places that may very well be in your own neighborhood. Local sites and events in every corner of the world, along with articles and columns about lifestyles and activities, whether it be about decorating your cubicle at work, eating sushi, or getting a date.
We strive to have new and interesting content — and we encourage participation. Are you a geek that’s interested in writing? We’d love to have you write an article for us about your geeky interests. Read on to find out what you can write about and how to submit your articles.

GEEK LIFE SITE CATEGORIES
Features: The “stars” of the site, these are articles about various aspects of geek culture, with a focus on “local” activities — things that geeks in different places all over can head out to participate in.
Geek Life – articles about different geeky places to visit in various cities around the world. Is there a pub around the corner that has the best trivia nights? Is there a little-known museum that science geeks would love in your town? Is there a thriving arcade that geeks in your area need to know about? Is there a vacation spot that you’ve been to that no geek should miss? These are the types of places to write about for the Geek Life feature.
Geek World – Similar to Geek Life, but focused around geeky events. These could be conventions, video game tournaments, comic book signings, pinball tournaments, charity events, or anything else that would be interesting for geeks to take part in. This is a news/reporting type feature, where the author creates a write-up about an event that they attended. Event write-ups should be as unbiased as possible; if you’re writing about your personal feelings on a pinball tournament rather than what happened, for example, then that would be a review of the event instead of a Geek World feature.
Geek News – News on upcoming geeky movies, video games, etc., and previews of events like cons, tournaments, book signings, etc., so that people know what’s going on in their area that they can attend. Previews of events that are upcoming fall into the section.
Geek Sites – A weekly feature that talks about a geeky website that everyone should be visiting.
Other – If you have an idea for an article that doesn’t quite fit into the above categories, such as a how-to article or an interview, it will still be included in the features category.
Opinion: Opinion articles should be well-constructed and thoughtful. For some tips on writing opinion articles, please check out this page on the NY Times’ website: http://www.nytimes.com/2005/12/29/opinion/29iht-web.opinfo.html. Letters to the editor in response to articles on the site will also be included in the opinion section.
A&E: Arts and entertainment!
Reviews - Reviews of comics, video games, books, TV shows, music, restaurants, and so on.
Culinary & Cuisine – It’s a myth that geeks can’t cook! Have a favorite recipe, or a quick and easy meal suggestion? Did you bake a cake that’s worthy of geeky glory? We’d love to showcase your culinary talents!
