Geek News: New iPad Will Have a Different Screen Size

Following up on news from earlier in the week, Digisite — the same Taiwanese electronics logistics news site that broke aforementioned news — has reported that Apple may be releasing two new iPads next year. The first we heard about on Wednesday and will likely be released by the end of the first quarter of 2012.

The second iPad, which reports say will be launched before the fourth quarter, will have a new screen size: 7.85 inches. This is apparently to compere with larger smart phones from other competitors and devices such as the 7-inch Kindle Fire from Amazon. Sources say that production of the 7.85 inch iPad will begin at the end of the second quarter of next year.
