Geek News: Google Launches Google Voice

Earlier in the week, Internet behemoth, Google, launched their Google Voice service which allows for users to voice call via Gmail accounts for free.

Apparently limited to twenty or thirty minutes at a time, users won’t need a Google account or a calling card or any form of virtual credit, and will be able to call landline and cellphones in the US and Canada.

However they’re also planning Google Voice Phone Booths, in the design of world famous London red telephone boxes, for public-use, where you’ll be able to place calls to anywhere in the world for free.

When you’re likely to see these popping up on your streets is still as of yet unknown, but this is a very interesting if not exciting move on their part, that should have cellular companies very worried.
