The Quest for Gen Con

So, recently I signed up for passes to Gen Con.  The wife and I are going to be going with a couple of friends who will help us to navigate the wild world of gaming.  I’ve only been to one gaming convention in my life, and it was there that Dave Arneson spat on me.  Now it wasn’t on purpose, and he’s since passed away, but I was lucky enough to get his autograph on a 3.5 edition redo of his original Blackmoor setting.  That book is safely packed away somewhere that I can’t touch it, as it may actually be worth something some day.

Back to the news though, for now, I’ve applied for a Press Pass to Gen Con, so I can cover it in all my studious, nerdcore, wit and wisdom.  Bringing all 12 of my faithful readers the inside scoop about who’s who, what’s what, and where’s where.  I plan on staying up far too late, meeting intersting people, trying not to meet too many weirdos, and ogling girls in skimpy fantasy costumes with the hope that my wife won’t smack me for doing so.  I have to admit, I’m pretty jazzed about it, and I think if I like it, we could make it a semi-annual event.

So keep your eyes peeled for newer posts, and likely an article about it in future.  I don’t want to write too much here, because I do feel an article is in order, if only to prove my geek-cred to the Gen Con cerberus that currently has my application.  Keep ya’ll posted, and expect more to come.
